Policy Compliance Testing module for performing audits and assessments. Using an industry standard format for documenting best practices (the Microsoft Security Configuration Editor *.INF compatible format), enterprises can now specify what they should see on a target machine and then as Velosecure collects information it generates a Compliance report that displays a gap analysis. Velosecure supplies you with security definitions monthly and these definitions contain best practices that we obtain through our alliances, partners, research, and testing. But for consultants or those of you who choose to customize the best practices, you may override our best practices with your own .inf file (user.inf).
Active Directory (Users, Groups, Architecture, Group Policy Objects, and ACLs): As Windows 200X and Active Directory become more prevalent, this built-in module allows the procurement of User, Group, and Object information from LDAP. Group Policy objects are analyzed and all files are retrieved. AD Options are completely customizable from the GUI so you can select your provider and limit the number of entries read. Directory Service Access Control Lists and Active Directory Group Policy Links are also retrieved.;
Internet Information Service (WWW, FTP, and SMTP): Since most Windows installations default to enabling IIS, this optional module is now available. Depending on which services are running, Metabase information from each of the IIS components may be collected;
Graphical User Interface: While Velosecure is a console application that requires NO installation and writes nothing to your system but its data directory, VCA includes a GUI front end to make execution much more efficient and customized;
Execution Interface: Multiple key file support, configuration settings (.ini), and more module options allow you to execute a more customized security assessment.
Updates: RRAS, Terminal Services, Trusts, Registry Auditing, Tasks, User Rights, and Service Auditing have all received updates for the latest operating system enhancements and security features.
Intuitive Help: Using the GUI, you can now access a streamlined HTML help system to understand all the intricacies of Velosecure. You may also use context sensitive popup help for each GUI option.
