Much like how we can subscribe to the forum update on console and client updates, it would be great if there was a way to know when updated versions of policy.xml and AnyFind.zip were available. This way we would be emailed when those are changed/updated.

It would also be nice if the webpage containing AnyFind.zip contained the date of the latest definitions, or at the very least the version somewhere on the page, so that I know whether the ones I distribute via our console are the most current.

Hello -
1) Policy Definitions are only updated when there are new settings implemented in the client and those settings are always reflected in the release notes.  We recommend that any time you perform client updates that include new settings, you take the latest policy definitions.  You can update the definitions from within the console on the resources page.
2) To solve the issue of ensure that the definitions that you push out are the latest, would it suffice to add to the same console resources page a display of the latest definitions and an option to download them?

Hello and thank you for your reply!

We do not allow our server to talk to Idf.com. Our console is only routable within the organizations IP space. We have our default policy configured to allow AnyFind updates to hit Idf.com, but have disabled Application Updates aside from allowing updates from our own console once we have tested each new version.

No one minds having users install the AnyFind definitions as they come out, but when a scheduled scan kicks off and there are new AnyFind defs, the scheduled scan does not check for and install updates before scanning.

Do you better understand why being notified of new definitions, or at least being able to manually check and verify at a glance on http://www.identityfinder.com/us/Company/AnyFind/ would be helpful for us? Whether it be the date released or the version number (41, 42, etc) on the webpage, anything would be nice. Just a suggestion, and thanks for your time.
