There seems to be an issue with Identity Finder on Mountain Lion.  I'm testing with the latest, fully updated Developer Preview.

On my first install, Identity Finder was working fine using our older 5.1 installer generated from our console.  But after reformatting the machine and installing Identity Finder again, I can't get it to work.  When I go to Preferences -> File Types -> Select Custom file type list and click Manage, I see only "Other File Types" in the list.  Normally this list should include all the Spotlight filterable types and indeed doing a search with known detectable test data yields no search hits.

As an additional test, I reformatted the Mac again and this time downloaded the current Identity Finder 5.7 for Mac direct from Identityfinder.com.  I copied the application bundle from the DMG to the Applications folder and then installed our license file inside the application bundle, but am getting the same issue with the Spotlight filterable types not showing in the Custom list.

Anyone else tested Mountain Lion and Identity Finder?

Hello - Mountain Lion is not yet supported. We are actively testing this OS but as Apple has repeatedly changed features of the operating system between developer previews and release, a version of DLP Endpoint for Mac that supports Mountain Lion will be released after the operating system has been released as a final version.

Hi,

Are you able to confirm whether or not your future 10.8-supported client will be compatible with Mountain Lion's new Gatekeeper security feature (requiring installers to be signed with an Apple Developer ID), which is enabled by default on all new Mountain Lion installs?

Hi.  Is there any update to 10.8 support?  We are waiting to roll out version 6 until 10.8 is supported.

I would have to disagree. The University of Utah purchased this software and I have upgraded to the most recent version off your site. I am running OS X 10.8.2 and the software has never finished a scan. It always fails at some point in the scanning process. I have even quit every other running application and only ran Identity Finder and it still crashes at some point. Unfortunately. This seems like a good product and it seems to work however if I can never complete a scan what use is it to me?
